Château Rouget appearance on official records dates back to 1700 and is one of the first official Pomerol Crus. It was then owned by Bayonne Family. Since 1992, it has been owned by the Labruyére Family. The Labruyére Family have been involved in winemaking since 1850. Rouget aims to reclaim its former glory as one of the best producers in Pomerol. Vines at Rouget are sustainably farmed and the grapes are harvested by hand to retain the fruit’s integrity and optimal ripeness.
Located in North East Bordeaux, Rouget’s terriors slope down various terraces towards the Isle Valley. The Vineyard is planted with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. The estate’s vines are around 40 years old.
